Adaptive Strategies of Shorebirds

Shorebirds are a fun and fascinating group of birds that have adapted physically, behaviorally, and physiologically to their environment. Dave Slater will discuss some of these adaptations and how they increase shorebirds' chances of survival. 

Speaker: Dave Slater

Dave has a Masters Degree in Zoology and was a marine biologist, radiobiologist, and environmental chemist. He taught at the Boeing Leadershio Center and led leadership courses and training in several countries.  He and his wife Yvonne love birds and learning about them. They participated in 3 Christmas Bird Counts in 2023.
