2024 Total Eclipse Viewing at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge

Gather at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge for an extraordinary solar eclipse viewing event. Set against the pristine backdrop of the refuge's natural beauty, attendees will experience the celestial phenomenon in a tranquil environment. Families and enthusiasts alike can engage in educational and artistic activities, witness wildlife behavior during this unique occurrence, take a photo at our solar eclipse wildlife photo booth and marvel at the sun's gradual transformation.  The event promises a memorable blend of science, nature, and community, creating an unforgettable experience at the intersection of celestial wonder and ecological splendor!

No registration is required.

Activity and Accessibility: Easy-active, small art and educational activities may require minimal hand dexterity. Solar eclipse viewing will require specific glasses and the ability to look up at the sun and moon. TV viewing will be available indoors.

What to bring: This program is held indoors and outdoors, bring water and dress comfortably and warm. Bring chairs or blankets if you would like to sit outside.

Things to know:

The refuge is open sunrise to sunset, the Visitor Center will be open 9 am - 5 pm on April 8th, our activities and programing will begin at 1 pm.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Restrooms provided at the Visitor Center when open, port-a-jon available at Kanyoo parking lot.
