Flock of Snow Geese

Migratory flocks of Snow Geese (Anser caerulescens) on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge move from location to location as the food supply and safety factors match their needs. This time of year we're frequently asked about where to observe the massive flocks of birds. And the answer can change from day to day. A flock of birds may find a great overnight resting location, but fly off to a totally different location for daytime feeding. Bring your binoculars and scopes and visit the refuge to see what you can find.
