Ausable River Restoration

New York Field Office Partners for Fish and Wildlife staff have been actively involved with watershed-scale assessment in the Ausable River system in Essex County, NY - the Ausable is a major river in the Lake Champlain basin. A component of the assessment involved recommending priority projects for restoration, the first of which was completed earlier this month on the East Branch Ausable in Upper Jay, NY.  This project was profiled on NPR’s Here and Now: https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2021/10/13/climate-change-new-york-river
