About Lily Calderón

A successful summer in the Directorate Fellows Program (DFP) connected Lily to the Migratory Birds Program in the Pacific Region. Soon after completing the fellowship and acquiring direct hiring authority, Lily was brought on to assist with waterbird and community engagement projects. Lily coordinates the Western and Clark’s Grebe Working Group, participates in the Western Yellow Rail Working Group, and assists with the monitoring of American White Pelican. As the community engagement specialist, Lily is the point of contact for the Urban Bird Treaty Program in the Pacific region. She also assists in the coordination of the Bird by Bird program, an environmental education program offered by the Migratory Birds Program that allows students to learn about bird and birdwatching from a skilled educator. Lily builds and maintains partnerships between underserved communities and the Migratory Birds Program.
