The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Idaho proudly announces the winner of the 2018 Idaho Junior Duck Stamp art competition! Congratulations to Robynn Flowers, a 12-year-old from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Boise. Her chalk pastel of a Canada goose, “Winter Goose,” was chosen Best of Show among 282 entries statewide. Robynn’s artwork now travels as Idaho’s finalist entry for the national federal judging in Washington, D.C. on April 20th. We wish her good luck!
The Service thanks all students (K-12) who participated in this contest, with special thanks to the teachers and families who encouraged young artists across the State of Idaho to submit entries. The Junior Duck Stamp raises funds to support conservation education programs, and engages youth in wildlife and habitat conservation and outdoor recreation. The winning design is selected at a national art contest, and then is made into a pictorial stamp, similar to the national Federal Duck Stamp for adult competitors.

A second part of this year’s contest was a Conservation Message competition. One message per state also is judged at the national level. Idaho’s winning Conservation Message was written by Molly O’Sullivan, Sacred Heart Catholic School, Boise. Congratulations to Molly!

The Junior Duck Stamp contest is a collaborative effort, hosted by federal and state agencies, organizations, and businesses in Idaho. This successful and important program for youth could not continue without this valuable collaborative support.
