Information Sought on Dead Grizzly Found North of Seeley Lake

MISSOULA, Mont.Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) are seeking information on the shooting death of a male grizzly bear found alongside Highway 83, approximately 10 miles north of Seeley Lake in west-central Montana.

Investigators retrieved the carcass on November 6, 2015 and estimate that it died sometime between November 3 and 5 from a gunshot wound.  The bear was transported to the FWP wildlife laboratory in Bozeman for further investigation.

FWP and the Service are asking for anyone with any information on this case to call 1-800-TIP MONT. Callers do not have to identify themselves and a reward of up to $2,000 may be available for information leading to a conviction.
