Press Release
New Media Contact at USFWS Alaska

After serving for some 13 years as the primary media contact for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska, Bruce Woods will be retiring on April 30, 2013. It is expected that a new employee will be hired to fill his position later this summer, probably no earlier than July. Until that time, please direct your questions and requests for interviews to Cathy Rezabeck at (907) 786-3351, or by email at cathy_rezabeck@fws.gov. If Cathy is unavailable, you can continue to contact Larry Bell at (907) 786- 3431 or by email at larry_bell@fws.gov.

“It has been a pleasure working with Alaska’s media representatives for all these years,” Woods said. “I’ve come to know many of you as trusted colleagues, and I’m proud of the work we’ve been able to do together to make sure that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Alaska is transparent to the public it serves, and that the agency’s actions are clearly explained and widely understood. I look forward to running into any and all of you on our bike trails, riverbanks, and hillsides; and promise that when I do I will limit my conversations to warnings about breaks in the pavement, thoughts on where the fish are holding, and news of recent bear sign."
