Yellow-headed Blackbird

The splits! This Yellow-headed Blackbird is perched rather awkwardly between two cattail stems. The female of this species is not nearly as brightly colored. She will weave a nest into the cattails, reeds, or rushes over standing water and will lay 2-5 eggs.
