The Wyoming Toad Conservation Area, established as a national wildlife refuge in October 2023, is the 569th unit in the National Wildlife Refuge System. Located in the Laramie Plains of the Wyoming Basin, the refuge will protect habitat critical for the survival of the endangered Wyoming toad, and important for the conservation of other species including the white-tailed prairie dog, pronghorn and migratory birds.
