An aerial view of Winthrop National Fish Hatchery in Winthrop, Washington. Winthrop NFH, which is part of the Leavenworth Fisheries Complex, raises and releases or transfers to partners spring Chinook salmon and steelhead trout as part of its mitigation responsibilities under the Grand Coulee Fish Maintenance Project. The hatchery also raises coho salmon in cooperation with the Yakama Indian Nation and its efforts to restore that species' historic runs in the Columbia River Basin.
