Animals are tested for diseases, parasites, sex, age and overall health. Data collected from the GPS collars identify where the animals live and their migration patterns. The USFWS has a long history of working with Native American governments in the management of fish and wildlife resources. Working together with indigenous cultures allows us to learn about the methods historically used by Tribes in the management of fish, wildlife and their habitats.
