The Fort Worth Zoo has been a natural partner for the conservation work with the Texas kangaroo rat, given its long history of caring for and breeding at-risk species. Their effort to learn more about the Texas kangaroo rat and their behaviors will hopefully guide future efforts to increase their numbers on the landscape.
