This is one spring where Railroad Valley springfish are found. This spring is on the Duckwater Shoshone Reservation and the tribe manages the spring by removing invasive species and maintaining the habitat. Railroad Valley springfish are federally listed as threatened. They are found in six thermal springs in central Nevada. The fish have adapted to survive in 86-100 degree Fahrenheit waters, water temperatures that relatively few fish can endure. Threats to recovery include invasive fish and habitat modification.
