The original caption for the photograph, written in August 1962: "Jones Hole, proposed National Fish Hatchery site Northeast of Vernal, Utah, adjacent to Dinosaur National Monument and about 4 miles above the Green River on a small spring fed tributary. Nearly inaccessible at present, site will be linked to outside by road now under study. This will be the source of fish for stocking the Flaming Gorge Reservoir and adjacent areas. View looking south, Jones Hole right center of canyon mouth."
