Profile of a Chincoteague Pony

Chincoteague Ponies are stocky, with short legs, thick manes, and large, round bellies. Though they are named after Chincoteague (the closest populated town) they actually live on Assateague Island, which is an undeveloped National Wildlife Refuge.
