The plankton nets used in the RPS system at the Virginia Fisheries and Aquatic Wildlife Center at Harrison Lake National Fish Hatchery. The nets are sprayed down to drive any juveniles toward the plastic bottle attached to the bottom of the net. The bottle cap is removed and the juveniles are sprayed into a Petri fish or other container for enumeration. Photo: Matthew Patterson, USFWS.
