Optimal Survey Time Frames for Virginia’s Federally Listed and Candidate Plant Species

Document - application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document
This is an image of the guideline document for optimal time frames in which to survey federally listed and candidate plant species in Virginia. This list contains the dates when surveys for each referenced species are optimal in Virginia and includes an explanation as to why it's optimal during this time (in flower or fruit, leaves present, period of low water).

This document provides the optimal time frames to survey for Virginia's federally listed and candidate plant species. Surveys conducted during these time frames by approved surveyors will produce reliable results that will be accepted during environmental review. Surveys conducted outside of these periods may allow for identification of suitable habitat but are not sufficient to confirm that these species are absent within suitable habitat.
