Mississippi: East Levee Powerline Rookery May 13

These photos, taken May 4 and May 12, show the rising waters at a rookery for great egrets, snowy egrets, cattle egrets and little blue herons near a powerline that crosses Panther Swamp National Wildlife Refuge near Yazoo City, Mississippi. By May 12, the rookery was inundated and the birds had evacuated.
