Lupines-Mission blue butterfly habitat

Purple lupines, habitat for the Mission Blue butterfly is seen here on the Southeast ridge of San Bruno Mountain. As of 14 December 2009, the 'mission blue Butterfly' (Icaricia icarioides missionensis) is listed as Endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
