Approximately 30 kettles at Edenton NFH are slated to be replaced in the next few years. The kettle is the deepest part of the pond. The fish gather there as the pond is drained, and staff can more efficiently capture and remove the fish from the pond for stocking into local rivers. This photo shows workers putting concrete into forms to create our new kettle.
