Keith Parker, a Yurok tribal member and biologist, takes a look at Blue Creek after a boat ride along the Klamath River. With water so cool and clean you can drink from it, Blue Creek is an important resting point for anadromous fish migrating higher up into the Klamath River. On Aug. 19, 2019 the Yurok Tribe, Green Diamond Resource Company and Western Rivers Conservancy celebrated a 10-year effort to preserve and place into tribal ownership about 50,000 acres of forest surrounding four salmon sustaining streams, including Blue Creek.
