John Marvin of Sierra Vista, Arizona caught the first Gila trout in Arizona just moments after the native fish were stocked in Frye Mesa Reservoir in the Pinaleno Mountains on Feb. 23, 2010. Marvin, a member of the San Pedro Fly Casters Association, said he used a "Marvin Special" fly to land the record fish. The Gila trout project, funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, created the first Gila trout season in Arizona.
