Development and Evaluation of the Applicability for a Parts Collection Survey for White-Winged Doves (Zenadia asiatica) in the Southwestern United States

Information on harvest age ratio (ratio of immature birds per adult in the harvest) combined with data on age-specic harvest vulnerability reported from banding and recovery data provides wildlife biologists with the basic foundation for estimating recruitment of migratory game birds at the population level (Munro and Kimball 1982). These estimates of recruitment, when combined with data on population distribution, size, and rates of survival and movements provide the structural building blocks for development of population models focused on harvest management of doves within the United States (Runge et al. 2002).
