Bryant Jew of the Lodi Fish and Wildlife Office attaches a buoy during the experimental release of hatchery-raised Delta smelt into the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta on Dec. 15, 2021. The project, carried out with the California Department of Water Resources and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, will help inform future supplementation of the threatened species in the wild.
