National Wildlife Refuge System Chief Cynthia Martinez at Hawaii's Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge in May 2013. She was deputy chief at the time and became chief in 2015. The bird is an i'iwi (also known as scarlet honeycreeper, Drepanis coccinea).
