Columbia Mine Preserve consists of 1,043 acres. This area was acquired in 2012 by the Sycamore Land Trust. Because the Columbia Mine Preserve is privately owned, this area is subject to different public access and use regulations. Public use is managed through a cooperative agreement with Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge and Management Area. The 48 acres of Refuge owned land North of CR 475 S is managed under the same regulations as the Columbia Mine Preserve. The Columbia Mine Unit is open from one-half hour before legal sunrise to one-half hour after legal sunset.
