Carl and Leone Fermanich oral history interview as conducted by Warren T. Olds. Carl Fermanich began his career with the Service in 1935 at Necedah NWR as the Assistant Refuge Manager. He transferred to several places during his career, and ended up in Washington, DC as the Assistant Chief, Division of Wildlife Refuges until his retirement in 1967. His main duty there was rough mapping and surveying prospective new refuges.
