U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Southwest Region Native American Liason Joseph Early lifts up the hind quarters of a decaying bull elk, exposing the still moist meat that’s preferred by blowfly larvae. The bull elk was collected from roadkill by a government agency, then kept in a walk-in freezer in preparation for the training, then put at the training site two weeks before the class began.
