Botanist Dr. Joe Sirotnak (at right) and volunteers monitoring Guadalupe fescue in Boot Canyon, Big Bend National Park. Joe passed away, far too young in 2019. He encouraged others to keep searching for rare plants in the Chihuahuan Desert within Big Bend National Park, and his work and legacy lives on as we work together towards conservation.
