Back into the River

A large male Suwannee alligator slides from the riverbank back into the water.

After biologists finish weighing and measuring the turtle, they release him back into the river. The biggest threats to the animal are accidental hooking from fishing and groundwater withdrawal decreasing flows in the Suwannee River.
