Pacific lamprey ammocoetes (young lampreys) are discovered in July 2018. Lamprey were confirmed back in the San Luis Obispo Creek and the lower portion of Carmel River in 2017. The species was fully confirmed in the Carmel River following the removal the San Clemente Dam. Credit: John Heil/USFWS
