Fish Viewing
A walk from the lower to upper hatchery provides a wonderful opportunity to see salmon in a natural environment. We have two viewing decks to get a closer look at them! Salmon spawn naturally in the Little White Salmon River, and you could be lucky enough to see it. Juvenile salmon can be viewed in one of the various outdoor raceway banks in both the lower and upper hatchery. Staff are happy to talk with you about the type of salmon you are viewing and answer questions. We have an underwater viewing room in our Visitor Center, located at the upper hatchery. This offers a spectacular glimpse of the adult salmon while they are held before spawning, which takes place in August and late fall.
