Walk for the Wild is an annual event which allows anyone to demonstrate their commitment to deepening human connections with nature and to protecting the thriving ecosystems we all depend on.

Join America's Wildlife Refuges in raising awareness and support for National Wildlife Refuges and their partners while moving a distance of 5K in nature during National Wildlife Refuge Week this October!

National Wildlife Refuge Week 2023 kicks off with Urban Wildlife Conservation Day on Saturday, October 7th. National Wildlife Refuge Week runs October 8 – 14, 2023.

More than 70 National Wildlife Refuges are participating in the Walk for the Wild event this year.

The Friends of the Bear River Refuge will be hosting an event at Bear River!

Date: October 14, 2023.

Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Where: Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge (2155 W Forest St, Brigham City, UT 84302).

Event Details:

  • To start the 5k Journey, there will be an optional guided nature walk @ 10:00 am.
  • The first 200 participants will receive a nature journal!

  • Test your skills in Animal Olympics at the Outdoor Classroom and Play Area.

  • Grab a free take home craft kit in celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week!
