Friends of Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery

The friends group at Dale Hollow NFH currently:

  • Runs the entire ‘Trout in the Classroom’ program maintaining relations, technical knowledge, education, collaboration, and equipment for all of the local schools to raise trout from eggs to fingerling size.
  • Sponsors, directs, and leads the Wilderness Day Camp annual event where kids get an interactive crash course in Tennessee outdoor activities
  • Supports the annual Kids Fishing Rodeo helping to gain community interest, radio coverage, volunteers and even supplies food for the annual event
  • Sponsors and leads the Project Healing Waters annual event
  • Represents the hatchery at local events
  • Helps with any number of hatchery operations and outreach efforts
  • Supports the local community utilizing the friends group and hatchery for as much sustainable potential as possible.

The friends group successes and singular dedication of Paul Boyce, Friends Group President, is spreading to touch the spirit of people who care about the area, the hatchery and the outdoors in general and monthly meetings are developing into an exciting opportunity to strategize about how to support current efforts and even explore some new ideas for the group.
