Wetland Resources: North Dakota

Wetlands covered nearly 11 percent of North Dakota, about 4.9 million acres, in predevelopment times. By the 1980s, wetlands covered about 6 percent of the state, or about 2.7 million acres, which represents a 45 percent reduction from the predevelopment acreage.
