Nature In Your Neighborhood: Animals in Winter

You don't have to leave your neighborhood to explore nature! Join a Refuge Ranger at your local library to learn all about what animals do in winter. We will go on a scavenger hunt searching for signs of wildlife, discover how some of our animal neighbors survive the cold and create a take-home birdfeeder to help our feathered friends. While activities are geared toward elementary-aged students, all are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Date and Time: Saturday, January 20th from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Penn Lake Library - 8800 Penn Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55431

Registration Information: No registration required.

Activity Level: Easy-active, we will walk outside to the library lawn and explore in a small area.

What to Bring: Clothing and shoes you can comfortably move around in. This program has indoor and outdoor portions, please bring outerwear appropriate for the winter weather. Event is rain or shine.

Accessibility: Restrooms and water fountains available inside of the library. Outdoor spaces include paved sidewalks and mowed lawn.

Program Leader: This program is led by refuge staff.
