Glowing fungi! Luminescent lichen! Owl calls and moonlight!
The William Ferrell Forest Discovery Program is pleased to announce our 3rd Moonlight Meander event! In partnership with the Corvallis Environmental Center and Winter Wildlife Field Days, and featuring Heart of the Valley Astronomers, we welcome you to join us in Peavy Arboretum for a guided forest walk as day turns to night.
RSVP Required
When: Friday, March 14th, 6:30 pm-8:00 pm
Where: Peavy Arboretum
NW Peavy Arboretum Rd
Corvallis, OR 97330
What: Attendees will explore the trails around Peavy Arboretum as the sky gets dark and a full moon comes up. We will have UV flashlights available and knowledgeable guides to help us discover exciting new details about this habitat that so many plants and animals call home. Registration is limited to keep groups small.
Trails will include tripping hazards such as tree roots, so closed-toe, sturdy shoes are a must.
March can bring us any kind of weather, and this event will take place rain or shine. Please prepare for the weather, and layers are your friend!
Please indicate in a comment on your registration if you would like to be in either our Spanish-speaking or lower-impact/more accessible group. Reach out to Jay bruej@oregonstate.edu with any questions.
