Wilderness Day Camp 2022

Friends of Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery held its annual Wilderness Day Camp on Thursday July 14th.

Paul Boyce, leader of the Friends group invited Sam Heron from Nashville, TN National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to present the education component of the day's activities.

The presentation was interactive and intensely interesting - the youth and adults were riveted by the real world analysis and public interaction activities NOAA provides and the tornado machine was the highlight of the day.

After the weather presentation, youth each spent time learning fly fishing and archery with the help of Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency and US Army Corps of Engineers rangers. A light lunch was provided before the even concluded around 1:30pm
