Public Session of the International Porcupine Caribou Board Meeting to be held September 16

The International Porcupine Caribou Board will meet September 16-17, 2014 in Fairbanks, Alaska to consider, among other issues, recent information from management agencies, local communities, users of the Porcupine Caribou and scientists regarding conservation of the Porcupine Caribou herd.

The Board is holding a public session from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel St, Fairbanks, AK 99701. Members of the public are welcomed to offer views or ask questions regarding the conservation of the Porcupine Caribou herd. 

The International Porcupine Caribou Board was established under the Agreement on the Conservation of the Porcupine Caribou Herd, which was signed by the governments of the United States and Canada in 1987. The Board is composed of representatives from federal, state and provincial authorities in the United States and Canada, as well as Alaska native communities who have historic ties to the Porcupine Caribou.
