Service Awards $589,773 to Achieve Regional Fish and Wildlife Restoration Priorities in the Great Lakes Basin
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced today that $589,773 of federal funding has been awarded under the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act to achieve regional fish and wildlife restoration priorities in the Great Lakes Basin.
“The Service is very pleased to provide $589,773, split between two projects, to address regional restoration priorities identified by State resource management Directors and Tribal Chairs,” said Tom Melius, Midwest Regional Director. The Act authorizes State Directors and Tribal Chairs to submit restoration projects of regional priority for the Service to accomplish on their behalf. For 2013, the following two projects were funded:
- Continued Monitoring and Mapping Avian Resources over Selected Areas of the Great Lakes and Outreach to Support Related Resource Management
