Service to Host Public Meeting to Discuss Proposed Land Exchange and Road Corridor for Izembek National Wildlife Refuge
On Thursday, March 11, 2010, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will hold a public scoping meeting on the proposed land exchange and road corridor for Izembek National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska. The session will help the Service identify issues that pertain to the development of a draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The Service is scheduled to release a draft EIS for public review and comment in spring 2011. Based upon a thorough review of comments, the Service will issue the final EIS, record of decision and a public interest finding in spring 2012. Additional information about the planning process, including the locations of future public meetings will be posted at http://izembek.fws.gov/.
