The Greenbelt Land Trust (GLT) in partnership with the McKenzie River Trust (MRT) and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has been awarded a grant for $ 960,000 from the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission, as authorized under the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA). The project was one of 17 projects funded nationwide.
The GLT, MRT and USFWS will work in partnership with private landowners to conserve, restore and enhance over 1,800 acres of wetland and riparian riparian

Partners designed this project to build upon existing wetland conservation activities occurring within the upper Willamette Valley. In total, this project will protect and restore 1,823 acres comprised primarily of wetlands, wet prairies and riparian vegetation. These rare valley habitat types once dominated the landscape prior to the 1850
