Cooperative Agriculture Grazing Opportunities at J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge

J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge near Upham, North Dakota, has twenty-one cooperative agriculture opportunities for grazing on the refuge in 2023. The grazing units range in size from 265 acres to 2,380 acres and permits will be valid for five years from 2023 to 2027.

Applications for grazing and maps showing unit locations will be available starting March 6, 2023, in the Refuge Office at 681 Salyer Road, Upham, North Dakota 58789. All grazing units and application information will also be available on the refuge websiteApplications must be received by 3:30 pm CT on Friday, March 17, 2023. Applications may be submitted in person or by mail to the Refuge Office at 681 Salyer Road, Upham, North Dakota 58789, or submitted by email to gary_williams@fws.gov.

Successful applicants will be selected through an open and competitive process.  Applications will be scored and ranked using objective criteria from the grazing application. All applicants will be notified by March 24, 2023.
