Wertheim, Target Rock and Elizabeth A. Morton refuges are now part of the New York State Birding Trail! The newly established Long Island segment highlights twenty locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, providing a variety of quality birding experiences for New Yorkers and visitors to enjoy. Managed by the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation, the agency solicits input from a wide range of organizations that represent Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
