Paul Gibson Oral History Transcript

Paul was born and raised in Wisconsin where he grew up camping, hiking and fishing on the shores of Lake Michigan. While attending the University of Wisconsin, he studied abroad for a year at the University of Copenhagen. He went to graduate school initially at George Washington University in Washington, DC and received his degree in International Affairs. In the early years of his career, he worked as an Economist for USDA. After a period of time, he desired a change and switched to the IT field where he received a second master’s degree from Syracuse University in Information Management. It was being in the IT field that led him to his position at the USFWS. In this oral history, he discusses the opportunities and challenges he encountered as the Assistant Director for Information Resources and Technology Management, IRTM.
