US Fish and Wildlife Service schedules virtual public hearing for March 14 on proposal to list the Bay-Delta longfin smelt as endangered
Public is invited to provide new comments at the hearing

Sacramento, California On February 27, 2023, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service reopened a 30-day public comment period on its October 2022 proposal to list the San Francisco Bay-Delta longfin smelt. The reopening allows the Service to hold a public hearing as requested by partners for new comments and information to be submitted on the proposed rule.

The virtual public hearing will take place March 14, 2023, from 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Verbal comments for the record may be submitted via Zoom or phone at the hearing. Comments previously submitted will be fully considered in preparation of the final rule. Information on how to submit comments is available at www.regulations.gov by searching under docket number: FWS–R8–ES–2022–0082. The due date for public comments is March 29, 2023, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
