Mission Blue Butterfly

A female Mission Blue butterfly rests on a yarrow plant located on the Southeast ridge of San Bruno Mountain, California. As of 14 December 2009, the 'mission blue Butterfly' (Icaricia icarioides missionensis) is listed as Endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act.
