About the Community Gallery
The Community Gallery at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge offers a space for local artists and organizations of all backgrounds and skill levels to display their creative talents. The refuge believes in the power of art to connect, inspire, and reflect the unique spirit of Southwest Idaho. Exhibitions are displayed for 3-6 months and artwork can be related to wildlife or explore other themes, as long as it connects to the essence of our community. What's Currently on Display: ART-THROPODS: A Close Look at Bugs
This exhibition compiles many illustrations Armando Falcon-Brindis PhD has done over the last 10 years. The arthropods (insects and arachnids) shown here are captivating and have special features. Arthropods play an important role in nature, but they are usually overlooked, and people are typically afraid of them because of their “creepy” aspect. This exhibition aims to educate people of all ages about entomological science. Armando uses his drawings so people can take a close look at bugs while they admire the beauty of these small critters.

La Galería Comunitaria del Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Deer Flat ofrece un espacio para que artistas y organizaciones locales de todos los orígenes y niveles muestren sus talentos creativos. Creemos que el arte tiene el poder de conectar, inspirar y reflejar el espíritu único del suroeste de Idaho. Las exposiciones se exhiben durante 3 a 6 meses y las obras de arte pueden estar relacionadas con la vida silvestre o explorar otros temas, siempre y cuando estén relacionados con la esencia de nuestra comunidad. Lo que se exhibe actualmente: ART-TRÓPODOS: Una Mirada de Cerca a Los Insectos
Esta exposición recopila numerosas ilustraciones que el Dr. Armando Falcon-Brindis ha realizado durante los últimos 10 años. Los artrópodos (insectos y arácnidos) expuestos son cautivadores y poseen características especiales. Los artrópodos tienen un papel importante en la naturaleza, pero mucho gente los tema por su aspecto “espeluznante". Esta exposición busca educar a personas de todas las edades sobre la ciencia entomológica. Armando utiliza sus dibujos para que la gente pueda observar de cerca a los insectos mientras admira la belleza de estas pequeñas criaturas.
