Learn About Waterfowl By Doing Art
A Fun Opportunity for Student Artists

The "Conservation Through Art" Junior Duck Stamp contest is now open to any student in grades K-12.  All students have to do to enter the contest is to draw a picture of a native duck, goose, or swan, of a certain size and format, and submit it to their State's receiving site (for Indiana that is Muscatatuck NWR) by a certain date (March 15 in Indiana). The goal of the program is for students to learn about waterfowl and habitat, and there are no better study areas than national wildlife refuges like Muscatatuck.  Refuge staff are happy to provide resources to help with student Junior Duck work and many materials/resources are available on-line.  For more information click here.

After March 15 Indiana Junior Duck entries are judged in age categories and prizes are awarded. The State Best of Show entry is sent to the national contest. The national contest winner is given a large scholarship award and their artwork is made into a collectible stamp.
